Women Executives in the UK
The most comprehensive survey ever of women run businesses and organisations: where the women run businesses are, the industries, the impact that women have on performance and special sections on 'serial' and young entrepreneurs.
This survey is drawn from Gavurin Intelligence – derived from raw data supplied by Market Location Ltd. It is based on analysis of two very large and robust datasets: the Companies’ House directors’ database and MLDB – the Market Location business to business database of around 2.2 million British companies.
Our interest is the governance of British organisations; our focus is the gender differences associated with this. We join an increasingly robust debate about the contribution women make to our society and the role they play in shaping key institutions. And few institutions are as important as those which employ us.
Inevitably our choices about the topics to consider are personal ones. We have considered where women work, the industries in which they work and the ages – both of the people and the companies they manage. We have also considered the impact women have on company performance – a difficult area because women run such different businesses by comparison with men.
Finally, we have considered ‘niche’ questions. We have looked at high technology Britain and women’s contribution to that. And we have looked also at ‘young’ directors – those under 35 that will shape our future.
